6G-CATS participation in the SNS Call 4-5 Projects Introduction Webinar

Dr. Ioannis Chochliouros (OTE/Hellenic Telekom), 6G-CATS Project Coordinator, has joined the SNS Call 4-5 Projects Introduction Webinar

In the scope of the above webinar, Dr. Chochliouros introduced the scope and the broader ecosystem of the 6G-CATS project, analyzed the project objectives and also explained the intended use cases that are to be developed and validated in the course of the project effort. He also focused upon the proposed 6G-CATS essential architecture with all involved technologies and discussed the various challenges that are actually “faced” by the project, in particular by taking into account the fact that the eight design principles underpinning the 6G architecture (according to SNS-JU and Hexa-X-II blueprints) are not fully met by today’s optical access network, implying for dedicated effort in the project.

Although the time-framework was strict in order to allow all Call 4 and 5 projects to be introduced, 6G-CATS had the opportunity to “position” its core concept and also to identify potential candidates for collaboration in the future.

This webinar presented all sixteen (16) projects from Call 4 and the four (4) projects from Call 5 which are active in several streams, including project in the following streams:

Stream B-01-01 (Advanced Architectures Systems and Technologies)

Stream B-01-02 (Advanced IoT and Device Technologies)

Stream B-02 (Wireless Communication Technologies and Signal Processing)

    Stream B-03-01/02 (6G NTN-TN and Optical Networks)

Stream B-04-01/02 (Security and Reliable Services)

    Stream C-01 (Telco Cloud)

Stream D-01 (Trials and Pilots with Verticals).
