The 6G-CATS project participated in the SNS JU Call 4 & 5 Projects Introduction Webinar, held online on 19 October 2026, bringing together 20 newly launched research and innovation projects funded under the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU). During the event, Dr. Ioannis Chochliouros, Project Coordinator from OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization), introduced the 6G-CATS project, presenting its vision, key objectives, and planned activities. The presentation highlighted the project’s ambition to develop an AI-powered, secure, sustainable, and high-performance optical network infrastructure supporting the next generation of 6G connectivity.
As part of Stream B-03-02: Higher Speed Optical Access Networks and Future End-to-End Packet Optical Network Architecture in 6G, 6G-CATS showcased its innovative approach to integrating advanced optical communications, AI-driven network orchestration, intelligent sensing, and quantum-resilient security. The webinar provided an opportunity to increase the project’s visibility within the European 6G research community, exchange insights with other SNS JU initiatives, and explore potential synergies and future collaboration opportunities. Through its participation, 6G-CATS reinforced its commitment to advancing Europe’s technological leadership and contributing to the development of intelligent, resilient, and energy-efficient 6G networks.
