6G-CATS participation, via OTE/Hellenic Telekom, in the IEEE CloudNet 2026 International Conference
Dr. Ioannis Chochliouros (OTE/Hellenic Telekom), 6G-CATS Project Coordinator, has joined the recent IEEE CloudNet 2026 International Conference (https://cloudnet2026.ieee-cloudnet.org/) that has been hosted in Athens, Greece during the period October 19-21, 2026.

Cloud networking has emerged as a promising direction for cost‐efficient, reliable service and data delivery across wide-area backbones and data-center fabrics. The prominent penetration of virtualization technologies into computing and communication infrastructure has led to continuous innovation, with new network protocols, software platforms, and artificial intelligence-based techniques for their orchestration. The 14th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Networking (CloudNet) brought together the world’s most distinguished researchers and industry experts in this field and provided a great opportunity to present research as well as exchange ideas with a highly motivated audience. More than 162 accepted papers in 30 distinct sessions have been presented during the IEEE CloudNet 2026 International Conference.
The Conference also included more than 18 Booths, where various ongoing EU-funded projects and related results have been presented and discussed, interactively.
In this scope, OTE/Hellenic Telekom also organized 2 interactive Booths, dedicated to the SNS-JU 6G-CATS and 6G-PATH (https://6gpath.eu/, Grant Agreement (GA) No.101139172) projects, as well as to the Horizon Europe ECSTATIC (https://ecstatic-project.eu/project/, GA No.101189595) and the DIGITAL SM4RTENANCE (https://sm4rtenance.eu/, GA No.101123490) projects.
6G-CATS had the great opportunity to exchange views and ideas mainly with other SNS-JU projects, especially about the structuring and the intended assessment of corresponding use cases, the proposed architectures adopted, market exploitation issues as well as KPIs-/KVIs-related issues.
In particular, there were interactive communication, also with the aim of jointly participating in future events, with the following projects: ECSTATIC, 6G-PATH, 6G-DALI (https://6gdali.eu/, GA No.101192750), SUNRISE-6G (https://sunrise6g.eu/, GA No.101139257), FLECON-6G (https://flecon6g.eu/, GA No.101192462), 6G-INTENSE (https://6g-intense.eu/, GA No.101139266) and TeraGreen (https://teragreen.eu/, GA No.101139117).
With the case of the ECSTATIC project, more specifically, there were many areas of common interests, as both projects deploy optical infrastructure and examine network sensing capabilities, among others.
6G-CATS also exchanged views about the assessment of use cases in verticals with the I3 AMBITIOUS (https://ambitious-project.eu/, GA No.101115116) project, and the DIGITAL SM4RTENANCE project.
More than 100 participants visited the Booth during the 3 days of the Conference and have been informed about the objectives, the use cases, the technologies and the intended work-plan of the 6G-CATS project.
